Ystad Art Museum

Ystad Art Museum is located in an archetypal brick building from 1936 only steps away from the train station in the central parts of Ystad.

After passing the entrance you reach the museum shop with books, catalogues, things for children and adults and local craft. There is also a small café with a locally produced and organic range. From the first floor a staircase leads you upstairs to two floors with bright exhibition halls and smaller cabinets.

Ystad Art Museum’s collection focuses on art with relation to Scania and Denmark. Parts of the collection is permanently on display on the second floor exhibiting the local art history with works from artists such as Ola and Hans Billgren, Greta Sandberg, Tora Vega Holmström, Gerhard Wihlborg and Karin Persson.

Every year the museum presents about five temporary exhibitions of larger and smaller format and arranges events such as concerts, performances, guided tours and activities for children.
