Äpplets hus - The House of Apples

A little north of the Stenshuvuds nationalpark – Stenshuvud National Park lies Äpplets Hus among the scenic orchards next to Kiviks Musteri – Kivik Cider Mill.

Äpplets hus is a unique knowledge centre focusing on apples. The exhibitions cover subjects such as breeding, orchards and the history of the museum. There is also an exhibition factory that produces juice, cider and must. An interesting bee colony is also housed in the building.

Outside, there is a lovely exhibition garden with new themes every year and a selection orchard with 70-odd different kinds of apple trees. There is also a culture orchard where new and old cultivation techniques meet in a very interesting way.

Next to the entrance to the Äpplets hus there is a wonderfully cosy gift and garden shop. Here you may find ceramics, books, (apple) fabrics and much more. In other words, almost anything focusing on apples and Österlen. There are also select berry bushes and fruit trees for sale from the Sortimentsodlingen – Selection Orchard and the Visningsträdgården – Exhibition Garden.

Next to the Äpplets hus and the cider mill lies the Café & Restaurang Kärnhuset – The Core Cafe & Restaurant, serving nothing but delicacies.
