The Fishing Lure Museum

The Fishing Lure Museum is located between Järrestad and Gladsax and was inaugurated on August 6, 2011.

The museum houses more than a thousand fishing lures from the end of the 19th century to today. The purpose of the museum is to whet people’s interest in old fishing lures by informing them of how they were made and their abundance. To display a piece of cultural history in miniature, made by people with a burning passion for, say, the apparently simple task of fooling a pike. The result is often miniature works of art in terms of both colour and form, and you do not have to be a dedicated angler to be fascinated by the contents.

The lures are presented in a “modern” style, seasoned with humorous tidbits of information. New lures and new information on older lures are constantly added. That is why we are a living museum that wishes to engage its audience. Let yourself be surprised!

Open daily between 11 – 16.30, but please call ahead if you want to be perfectly certain.

The museum can also accept visitors at other hours by arrangement!
